So day twelve did not go so well. I'm at 30123, and I haven't finished transcribing my chicken scratch to computer yet. Wrote some on paper while husband had the computer locked down. The rest will go on todays numbers. Nearly 1500 words, but I'm glad I got that far!! My husband has big paper due in today and my computer time was slow, slow, slow :( I printed out my story and did a sort of edit and wrote on the pages and added things. I was stuck on moving forward and couldn't have the computer anyway.
Usually, for NaNoWriMO, you don't stop to edit, but that's for people who have umpteen computers, wireless internet, and no sick kids or housework to take care of. At least I'm working on my writing when not on the computer. That's how I have to look at it. I'm just happy I passed the 30k mark as I knew that in itself was a huge marker. I only have twenty thousand words to go and if I do over a thousand on bad days, I'll make the 50k and then some. If I have days like day 11 where I do 4k, then I'm going to blow the 50 and make my 75k goal. yeah me. LOL
I wish I could count all the blogging and twitter stuff, I would have passed the 50 k mark last week!!
Okay, off to another day of sick kids, housework, and appointments. And somewhere, I will find the time to write. (I think TX hates us. :( Someone is sick almost everyday. Maybe we will finally get to put a stop to it after this last bout of flu runs its course!)

Saturday
It's Saturday. Still looking for housing. I've made a couple of art contacts, which makes me feel good. I have an interview for an online internship for a writer's agent. Wish me luck! It will teach me the ins and the outs of writing a query letter and what agents are really looking for. This agent is a real sweetheart. My only complaint has been she doesn't write her blog very often. I know it's because she doesn't have time to do that but I like her refreshing attitude. Maybe, if I get the job, she'll be able to spend a little more time on her encouraging blog writing.
I can't even began to measure the value of the experience of working with an agent. Yippee!
I need my own home soon so I can get on with things. Right now, watching the kids so my friend who has graciously let us stay in her home could get a break. She's in Houston to see the terra-cotta warriors. A much needed break, I'm sure.
Well, it's back to work for me. I'll be posting passages from my works in progress onto my website very soon. I was going to do it earlier but obviously, life interfered. I will let everyone know when I get it to go.

Other Blog
I started another blog. This one is about Down Syndrome. I encourage everyone who has a down syndrome kid or who knows one to read it and to tell others. It's meant to be a positive support for other parents.
It dawned on me as I was writing something else that I needed a blog with my Down Syndrome encouragement to other parents. I hate the negativity tha abounds about being the parent of a kid with special needs.
Please encourage anyone with any special needs child to participate. I want parents to have a place to discuss their hardships and recieve positive help and encouragement, not judgement or fear.
In other news, I'm in two writing contests for the month of July and I've at least 700 more words to go. (My blogs DON'T count LOL) I only wrote 300 as part of editing yesterday because I knew I was starting these contests today and gave myself a break. I hadn't planned on it, but common sense won out, mostly because I took my daughter to the doctor. Her allergies were giving her issues.
My allergies are giving me some issues. But I won't let it stop me now! I'm on a roll. I have to print out blood traitors and make Nathan do the edits he has to do. He's making me crazy. (I know short trip and all that) :) Anyways, I'm excited to be writing so much. I figured out that I wrote over 30k in 7 days before yesterday, once I added up my totals from the last I remembered (I had 12k on two stories. Now, I have almost 30 on one, over 13 on another, I wrote a 11,300 historical novella, and worked on another short I wrote last year. I'm turning it into a long novel. I had apparently missed some in my counting. Although, I know that monday, I did a large portion of these numbers. I think I was off by 2k when I counted, forgetting it was 'same day' writing LOL
Plus all the blogging and commenting for networking and marketing. So it's prbably closer to 50k words for the week. :)
Still no takers on the whip master for my July writing...
okay, I have to get back to drawing board er, rather keyboard. (don't want tempt mtself away!)

writing
Wow, I found THE site to help me. It's one of the blogs I'm following. I've learned so much in such a short period of time. It's really helping me, escept when I don't apply it to writing LOL! Anyways, I've already fixed multiple problems that have bothered me in my manuscripts. I dind't get my hoped for word count, but what I did get will make my word count thrive and be so much more than words.
Check out my website that IS up and running :)
